LLM 2024 or most popularly known as Master of Law is a postgraduate degree in Law. The duration of Master of Law course in India offered by various colleges and universities is typically of two years. LLM Admission 2024 is based on performance in law entrance exams such as CLAT, LSAT, and other university-level exams such as IPU CET, DU LLM, etc. Top colleges for Master of Law courses are NLSIU, Symbiosis Law School, NLU Delhi, NALSAR, and NUJS, etc.

The average course fees for Law Courses range between INR 1,00,000 – 2,50,000.. Types of Master of Law include LLM Online, LLM Distance and Part-Time LLM. LLM Online is not available in India.

LLM 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for Master of Law differs from college to college. Many universities set their own criteria and in order to get admission into the Master of Law program, candidates need to fulfil those criteria.

However, there are some basic criteria which needs to be fulfilled by candidates to get into Master of Law program in India.

The basic eligibility for LLM 2024 admission is mentioned below: 

  • Many colleges and universities fix a minimum percentage requirement for the Master of Law course offered by them.
  • Most of these colleges and universities requires a candidate to secure at least 55% aggregate marks at the graduation level in order to be considered eligible for admission to Master of Law courses offered by them.
  • Candidates who are seeking admission in an Master of Law course should have completed their graduation in law, that is, if the aspirant has secured his/ her LLB/ Bachelor of Law/ Five Year Integrated Master of Law course from a recognized university/ college.

LLM 2024 Entrance Exam

There are many exam which a candidate can give in order to secure admission in an Master of Law course. The most popular choice amongst the candidates is Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Candidates can also opt for other examinations in order to qualify for admission. Every college accept scores from different examinations. Candidates should make sure they are appearing for the right exam of their dream college.

CLAT PG: The Common Law Admission Test (PG) is conducted for admission to one-year LLM (PG) courses. The national-level Common Law Admission Test (or CLAT) is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. The examination is conducted for admission across National Law Universities (NLUs) for their PG courses. CLAT PG score is also considered by various PSUs such as ONGC, BHEL for recruitment purposes.

LSAT India LLM: LSAT India is conducted for admissions to one-year Master of Law course. The exam is conducted by the Law School Admission Council. The LSAT India examination is a standardized test to assess the skills of law aspirants on the basis of advanced reading skills, critical thinking, and informal and deductive reasoning skills.

AILET LLM: AILET LLM is conducted by National Law University, Delhi for admissions into Master of Law course. Candidates must have completed their three-year/five-year LLB degree or appearing for final-year/semester examination. The exam pattern consists of Section A comprising of MCQs from various branches of law and Section B comprising of Descriptive questions.

For securing a seat at a Law university or college for an Master of Law course, candidates need to qualify entrance exams like CLAT (Common Law Admission Test), AILET (All India Law Entrance Test), or LSAT India.
