HNLU Raipur: Admission 2024, Courses, Eligibility, Fees And Important Updates

Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU Raipur) was established in 2003. It is one of the most prestigious National law Universities of India. HNLU is the sixth in the series of National Law Schools across India.

HNLU Raipur is named after the great legal luminary Justice Mohammed Hidayatullah. Government of Chhattisgarh established the University under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act (Act No.10 of 2003).

HNLU has been included in the list of the Universities maintained by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and has been declared fit to receive Central assistance in terms of the rules framed under Section 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956. The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India under section 7 of the Advocates Act 1961.

CLAT Round 3 cutoff is out for HNLU Raipur admission 2024 to 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. The last date for final Payment of the University Fee to the concerned NLU for candidates who have chosen the Freeze Option in the First, Second and Third Allotment Lists is May 14, 2024

HNLU B. A. LL. B. (HONS.) Program

HNLU offers 5 year B. A. LL. B. (HONS.) Program. Candidates aspiring to get admission into this program must appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) for undergraduate admission.

Candidates must have passed a recognised 10+2 exam with a minimum aggregate score of 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates).

Candidates need to register and apply for CLAT through the official CLAT website. They should select HNLU Raipur as their preferred choice during the application process.

Candidates who qualify for CLAT are eligible for participation in the centralised counselling conducted by CNLU. The counselling process includes multiple rounds, and candidates are allotted seats based on their merit rank and preferences.

HNLU LL.M. Program

HNLU offers one-year LL. M. Program. In addition to classroom training imparted through innovative teaching methods, the LL. M. Program is focused on self-learning and research conducted by the students under the guidance of the faculty members. The admission to HNLU LL.M. program is through CLAT PG exam

HNLU Raipur Ph.D. Program

Ph.D. Program was not always a part of HNLU Raipur. The program commenced at HNLU since 2014. As HNLU Raipur is a popular choice of a lot of candidates, admission of scholars is made strictly on the basis of admission test conducted by the University separately.

HNLUinvites applications for Admissions into the Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programme in Law and Inter-disciplinary studies. The doctoral program at HNLU seeks to provide a forum to the students from legal and inter- disciplinary fields to pursue their academic interests and contribute towards their chosen area of study.

Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years from the date of registration and a maximum of six years

HNLU Raipur Eligibility Ph.D. Program

Candidates must have a Master’s degree in law or a relevant field from a recognised university with a minimum 55% aggregate score to take admission in HNLU Raipur.
Candidates with LL.M or equivalent degrees are eligible to apply for PhD in Law or interdisciplinary Ph.D. However, candidates with other Masters degrees or professional degrees are eligible to apply only for interdisciplinary Ph.D.

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission from time to time.

HNLU Raipur Admission 2024 Ph.D. Program

Candidates will have to appear for an entrance test. The entrance test will be of 100 Marks/
The All-India Ph.D. Entrance Test which shall be for a duration of 2.5 hours.
The entrance test shall comprise of 2 components:Research Aptitude Test and Legal Test
Candidates needs to score a minimum of 50% of marks in each component to qualify in the Ph.D. Entrance Test
Candidates, who have qualified for UGC NET (Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)/ lectureship) or SLET, shall be exempted from the Entrance Test.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation followed by an Interview before the Committee.
