What is AIBE (All India Bar Examination)?

The All India Bar Examination is a post-enrolment examination that is conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) for law graduates who wish to practice law in India. All India Bar Examination 2023 Qualifying Criteria
AIBE 18 exam date 2023 was on 10th December 2023. To appear for AIBE 2024, candidates need to meet the passing criteria to qualify for the exam:

AIBE Eligibility Criteria
The Bar Council of India has prescribed the eligibility criteria for All India Bar Examination. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. The AIBE eligibility criteria are as mentioned below.
Educational Qualification
1. Candidates should have completed graduation in law (3-year LLB or 5-year LLB) from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India.
2. All candidates graduating from 2009-10 onwards are required to appear in AIBE and pass the examination in order to practice law in India.
3. Candidates whose law degree was awarded before 2009-10 are not required to appear in the AIBE examination.
4. There are no minimum percentage criteria for appearing in the All India Bar Examination. However, the candidate must have passed the graduation examinations.
5. Candidates must enroll themselves with the respective state bar council before appearing in the All India Bar Examination.
6. Candidates not enrolled with any state bar council will not be eligible to appear in the AIBE examination.
