CLAT 2025 exam date was recently decided by the Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities. The Consortium decided that CLAT exam date 2025 will be December 1, 2024, 2 PM-4 PM on Sunday

CLAT 2025 exam date decision was made during Consortium of National Law Universities meeting held on April 26, 2024.

CLAT 2024 was recently conducted on 3rd December 2023. CLAT 2024 saw a 24.5% surge in applications compared to CLAT 2023.

What is CLAT 2025?

CLAT exam date 2025 was released recently and will be held in December 2024. Candidates should have all the knowledge related to CLAT. CLAT is one of the most-competitive entrance exams for admissions to law courses including five-year integrated LLB and one-year LLM courses in law colleges of India. CLAT 2025 is a national-level entrance exam. CLAT 2025 will be conducted for admissions to the five year integrated BA, LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes that commence in the academic year 2025-2026.

The entrance test will be conducted at the 22 participating National Law Universities (NLUs). CLAT 2025 will be held in offline, pen and paper format. The CLAT 2025 exam pattern will largely remain unchanged. CLAT Exam Date 2025

CLAT Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for UG Program

CLAT 2025 exam date has been released and the consortium will soon release the eligibility criteria/ The UG exam of CLAT is the entrance examination for Undergraduate Courses, i.e., Bachelor of Legislative Law. You must satisfy the following eligibility criteria to apply for the 3-year BA LLB program of CLAT 2025

-Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination):

-Forty-five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories

-Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

-Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April 2024 are also eligible to appear for the CLAT 2024 examination. However, they shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission”

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for PG 

-An LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty percent (50%) marks or its equivalent grade

-In case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Forty-Five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade

-In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories

-Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in April/May 2023 are also eligible to apply

CLAT 2025 Question Paper

The total number of questions in the undergraduate and post-graduate exams is 150 and 120, respectively. Exam duration is of 2 hours. The question paper of CLAT for UG courses is based on five subjects i.e. English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques.

Whereas, CLAT question paper for PG courses is based on law subjects including Constitutional Law, Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR and Jurisprudence, as well as, Law topics and Contemporary issues.

CLAT 2025 Registration Process

CLAT 2025 Registration process is to be followed be every candidate to appear for the exam. The CLAT 2025 examination will be held in OFFLINE mode. The applications have to be submitted ONLINE only from consortiumofnlus.ac.in website. The application form, complete in all respects and after payment of fees must be finally submitted and paid, Incomplete application forms shall not be considered. The candidates shall fill and submit the application form well in time to avoid last minute hassles. Please note that once the application is submitted and paid, the candidate cannot change the program, category, and BPL field. Updates to application form will be not be entertained after the closure date.

Visit the official website of CLAT, i.e., clatconsortiumofnlus.ac.in

Step 2

On the Home page, click the link “register” and complete the registration process by entering the name and mobile number and setting a password.

Step 3

Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number. This completes the registration process. 

Step 4

Log in to the portal using the registered mobile number and password. 

Step 5

Complete the application form by entering all the correct details.

Step 6

Upload necessary scanned images, documents, and signatures in the specified format.

Pay the fee through the different online payment modes to complete the application process

Important Details for CLAT 2025 Registration Process

As CLAT 2025 exam date has been announced, The next step for students is the registration process. But don’t worry we have got you covered. Please go through the below mentioned details 

1. The original certificates/documents issued by the competent authority as specified in the brochure are to be submitted to the allotted University in the form and manner as specified by the respective universities at the time of admission.

2. The photograph and signature of the candidate need not be attested while submitting the Online Application Form.

3. All documents/certificates should be uploaded in pdf format only.

Registration Fee for CLAT 2025 

-Application fees can be paid online only.

-Application fee for General/OBC/PWD/NRI candidates: Rs.4,000/-

-Application fee for SC/ST/BPL category candidates: Rs.3,500/-

-The cost of previous years’ question papers is Rs.500/- (not included in the CLAT 2024 application fee of Rs.4,000/- or Rs.3,500/- as the case may be.)

-The candidates themselves will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online. The actual bank transaction charges will be displayed in the payment gateway page after candidates choose the mode of payment.

-Application Fees is non-refundable.

CLAT for UG Courses consists of five section: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques.

English Language of CLAT 2025

The English language section of CLAT exam generally covers Word Rearrangement, Sentence Rearrangement, Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies, Spotting Errors, Spelling Errors, Sentence Improvement, Reading Comprehension, One Word Substitution, Cloze Test, Idioms & Phrases, Fill in the blanks. This will test aptitude in comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, you will be questioned on your understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used in the passage. 

Focus on what problems you face in the English section while taking CLAT mock tests. Identify your grey areas and improve them in the last three weeks. You can look at the high-frequency words (coaching institute provides such lists) if you do wish to increase word power. You can also read newspaper to improve your English.

Current Affairs and General Knowledge of CLAT 2025

Current Affairs and General Knowledge section of CLAT covers Current Happenings around the world related to Science & Technology, Sports, Economics, History, Geography, Politics and some of the Static GK. The GK section of CLAT will test your knowledge of current affairs. This is one of the highly scoring sections of CLAT. Be prepared for this section. Reading the newspapers regularly, keeping a tab on vital matters highlighted by the media in the last year would have been sufficient preparation to handle this section. If you have not been doing so, follow some last-minute tips to ramp up your score in this section.

Legal Reasoning of CLAT 2025

Legal Reasoning section of CLAT consists of Legal GK, Important Supreme Court Judgments; Laws, Important and recent acts and amendments of the legislature; Important topics from Contract law, Criminal law, tort law, and Constitutional law etc. For the legal aptitude section of CLAT , take note that you will not be tested on any prior knowledge of law or legal concepts.

If a technical or legal term appears in the question, that term will be explained in the question itself. The questions will be designed to test your ‘legal aptitude’. If you are good at logical reasoning and aptitude, you will perform well here. Try getting your hands on the previous years’ question papers. Questions get repeated from this section quite often with little or no changes.

Logical Reasoning of CLAT 2025

Logical Reasoning section of CLAT majorly covers Ranking, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Time & Sequence, Blood Relations, Distance and Direction, Statement & Assumption, Series, Number Test, analogy, Alphabet Test, Classification. The logical reasoning section of CLAT will assess your ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments.

The kind of questions asked will be from a wide array of logical reasoning questions like syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies. There are two types of questions in this section – logical, both verbal/critical and analytical. Analytical questions need tremendous practice before you can be comfortable. The logical questions are not difficult to tackle if you have the basic logical sense. With a little bit of practice, it can be improved a lot.

Quantitative Techniques of CLAT 2025

Quantitative Techniques of CLAT covers Areas, and Volumes, Percentage, Simplification & Approximation, Partnerships, Ratio, HCF & LCM, Discounts, Profit & Loss, Proportion, Interest, Averages etc. This section will test candidates only on “elementary” mathematics. It is pertinent to understand the fundamentals of the various topics of standard X level. To enhance your speed, one needs to attempt more practice exercises from various material.
