BHU Law Admission 2025 | Entrance Exams & Selection Process

Admission to BHU Law courses is based on entrance exams conducted by the university:

  • B.A. LL.B (Hons): Admission is based on merit in the BHU UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test).
  • LL.B (Hons): Selection is through BHU UET, conducted by the university.
  • LL.M: Admission is determined via the BHU PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test).
  • Ph.D in Law: Selection is based on Common Research Entrance Test (CRET) conducted by BHU.

BHU Law Eligibility Criteria

For B.A. LL.B (Hons)

  • Candidates must have passed (or be appearing in) 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board or institution.
  • Minimum marks required:
    • 50% for General
    • 45% for OBC
    • 40% for SC/ST
  • Note: Students who obtained 10+2 through open universities without basic qualifications are not eligible.

For LL.B (Hons)

  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./Shastri) under at least a 10+2+3 pattern.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks required (excluding subjects with pass marks only).

For LL.M

  • Must have completed or be in the final semester of a 3-Year LL.B. after graduation or a 5-Year Integrated LL.B. course.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in LL.B. are required.

For PG Diploma Courses

Postgraduate Diplomas are offered in the following legal specializations:
